Who says the modern aesthetic needs to carry a heavy price tag?
Well, brothers and sisters, it just doesn’t have to be that way
- not at buzz. We at Change Chamber are answering the call - to deliver
modern and sustainable living at some of the most affordable prices in
the city!
Before you scan a few of our examples, a quick primer on how the Change
Chamber team defines GREAT DESIGN:
On the surface, the lines should be simple, straight, minimal.
Beyond just good looks, smart design enables an element to perform multiple
functions – functions that increase comfort, reduce cost, create energy
or reduce energy consumption, channel natural light, and yes, save money.
Good design compliments the surroundings while making a statement of what could
be. Great design optimizes and integrates those surrounding resources such
as local climate, solar orientation, nearby transportation, even cultural,
social, and economic traits.
Although it may at first sound abstract, design that works has a life and energy unto its own, and it provides a synergy and vibrancy to the community.
It improves the individual’s existence, but not at the expense of the
collective.
Take a quick tour on some of the great design elements that are integral to buzz,
put these principles to test as we have:
Butterfly Roof System – A staple of many modern buildings, your
eastern and western facing 4-story breezeways are pitched in a butterfly roof
setup – with
exaggerated overhangs for increased shade and coverage from the elements. We
took it a step further by designing the roof surface to reclaim rainwater
for irrigation of the grounds. The building is also designed for future
PV panels. After all, as energy prices increase, why not be ready to move ‘off
the grid’?
Wide Body Design – Excuse the airplane metaphor, but as
our customers provide feedback about our floorplans, they are noticing that
our units are wider with
more building frontage. The result? You won’t find a narrow dark unit
in buzz, each dwelling is optimized for natural light and great downtown views.
An Outdoor Room with a view - Each dwelling has an
outdoor room as offered by generous balconies ranging from 75 square
feet to 100 square
feet wraparound balcs on our largest units. The balconies once again
perform double-duty since they serve as shade and protection from the
elements.
Double-pane Overhead Doors - Another first in Dallas – Each Dwelling
has a 8’ x 6’ Low E, Double-pane Overhead door opening onto each
balcony to further optimize the volume of space of each residence.
Peace, Love, Quiet - Each dwelling is insulated with Acoustic
Cork , batt insulation, and larger trusses for more sound dampening
effect between
floors.
Park it, Baby – Hey, as urban developers, land is
always a premium. So we applied high-rise building concepts to our 4 story
buzz
building. The Secured parking
is actually ground level, and is a concrete poured parking floor, privately
gated. Our first floor dwellings actually start at the second floor (with sealed
concrete floors) so all residences are elevated, all have clear views of downtown
Dallas and the westernly Calatrava bridge.
